Apple Day!

 Here are the students listening to Dr. Suess's book called Ten apples up on Top!

After we watched the story…the students had to come up with 10 different ways to create math facts that equaled the number 10!!! (For 10 apples up on top) They did such an awesome job with it, and here is the finished project~

Here is our finished apple pie from yesterday!!! We couldn't wait to eat it! It looks so Yummy! 

 The students had to taste test 4 different kinds of apples to find which one they liked the best! We tasted Granny Smiths, Red Delicious, Honey Crisp, and Pink Ladies!

Apple Pie Making

Today we learned about Johnny Appleseed. We read a Johnny Appleseed book, and came up with describing words for apples. We also made apple poems, that will we finish tomorrow. Since tomorrow is our Apple Day, and we read the story Amelia Bidelia and her apple pie. The students and I thought it would be a great idea to make an Apple Pie for our Apple Day tomorrow! Here are some pictures below of how much fun it was making our pie!

Paws for People Dog!

Finally!!! Our first blog post for this year!! 

Today we had our Paws for People Dog - Sophie came to visit! Sophie is a fun loving and well behaved dog who loves to listen to the students read to her. Each child has one on one time to read to Sophie. This year our class was lucky enough to get an iPad through the school, so the students have a choice to use the iPad to read or they can pick a book from our class library. Sophie and her owner MC will visit our classroom twice a month! We are so excited!!! Here are some pictures from todays session. 

 I forgot to mention - Sophie LOVES apples!
